Winter Bouquets

Vases with fresh cut specialties from your garden don’t have to end when summer is over.
The kitchen window ledge, a bedside table, the bathroom sink, and the dining room table are perfect places to tuck a little vase filled with a rotating feature from the garden. Late fall through winter, we are without homegrown flowers. During these times, I look for ways to bring other treasures from the outside into the home. Fresh ever-greenery keeps my vases full until the growing season begins again.
A small clipping from an evergreen shrub or tree can be every bit as beautiful and showy as a colorful flower, and much longer lasting.
Evergreen clippings can last for several weeks in a vase of water. They can be displayed alone or paired with faux berries, feathers, or other embellishments.  Be certain to refresh the water every week, and trim the tip to allow a fresh cut for the clipping to receive water. I keep tiny vases on hand, one-inch to four inches in height for these occasions to insert a splash of greenery and add allure to a lonely corner of the home.
At the holidays, I go wild with greenery. Our home is generously garnished in every corner with decor that is fragrant and alive, and it greets the season with splendor. Simple clippings go a long way. Here are a few of my favorite inspirations:
 Wreaths
Entry Way Greens
Greenery in a Basket
Simple Winter Wedding Arch
Table Embellishment
Luscious Package Topper
 Centerpiece Greenery
